Biography: Jean Dessès (1904–1970), a Greek-born couturier based in Paris, was one of the leading masters of post-war haute couture. Renowned for his Grecian-inspired draping and ethereal gowns, he dressed European princesses and aristocrats, including Queen Frederika and Princess Sophia of Greece. His couture house, founded in 1937, trained major talents such as Valentino and Guy Laroche. His scarves reflect the same artistic sensibility as his haute couture creations.
