This splendid Hermès scarf, entitled « In Glory of William, » was designed by Loïc Dubigeon in 1991.
Directly inspired by the famous Bayeux Tapestry, it recounts the conquest of England by William the Conqueror in 1066.
The meticulous friezes recall the medieval style of the original work, with horsemen, ships, and battle scenes depicted in gold outlines on an ivory background.
This understated and refined version, in off-white and light gold hues, showcases the exquisite detail of the design and the graphic mastery of Dubigeon, one of the most emblematic artists of the House of Hermès in the 1990s. Born in Brittany, he created numerous scarves featuring Normandy.
