Hermès Scarf « Les Jardins d’Arménie » with box – Karen Petrossian (2005)
A magnificent Hermès scarf in 100% silk, hand-rolled, first issued in 2005 and designed by Karen Petrossian, the first Armenian artist to collaborate with the Maison. This rare piece, titled Les Jardins d’Arménie, is a tribute to Armenia’s cultural and artistic heritage.
The intricate design is reminiscent of medieval illuminated manuscripts and Armenian carpets: a lush profusion of flora and fauna (birds, felines, ibex, giraffes, fantastic characters) creates a dreamlike tapestry. At the center, a symbolic figure stands as the guardian of this eternal garden.
The delicate palette – powder pink, soft green, beige, ochre and plum – enhances the elegance of the composition. The wide pink border highlights the richness of the central scene.
