Hermès silk scarf L’Art d’Écrire, the 2005 reissue of the original 1957 design.
Inspired by an instructional plate from Diderot and d’Alembert’s Encyclopédie, the composition highlights the art of handwriting: calligraphy exercises, cursive alphabets, “lettre bâtarde,” demonstrations of line thickness, and small vignettes showing writing techniques of the 18th century.
The scarf is printed in black on a blue pale background.
This piece is in perfect condition, and comes with its original Hermès box.
